The Herbal Garden of the Faculty of Ayurved serves as a living repository of medicinal plants, reflecting the essence of Ayurveda’s deep connection with nature. The Herbal Garden is not only a center for academic and research excellence but also a bridge between ancient Ayurvedic wisdom and modern healthcare innovation. It embodies the Faculty of Ayurved’s commitment to nurturing the legacy of Ayurveda while promoting environmental stewardship.

Key Features

1. Extensive Plant Collection:

  • The garden houses a wide variety of medicinal plants, herbs, shrubs, and trees mentioned in classical Ayurvedic texts like the Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, Astanga Hrudaya, Bhavaprakasha Nighantu etc.
  • It includes rare and endangered species that are vital to Ayurvedic formulations and therapeutic practices.

2. Educational Resource:

  • Provides students with practical knowledge of identifying and understanding the properties, uses, and cultivation of medicinal plants.
  • Enhances the study of Dravyaguna Vijnana (Ayurvedic pharmacology) and Bhaishajya Kalpana (Ayurvedic pharmaceutics).
