About the Department:
The Department of Prasuti Tantra Avum Stri Roga is imparting teaching and training to Undergraduate (BAMS) students. Various research activities of the department include providing best Ayurvedic medical care and treatment for various diseases of females like Anartava, Rajah Krichrata (Dysmenorrhea), Artava Kshaya, Artava Dushti, Asrigdara, Vandhyatva, Garbhashaya Shotha, Cysts related to Beeja Granthi, Shroni Shotha (Pelvic Inflammation) etc. The Prasuti Section of Department provides Ayurvedic Medical Care and Treatment for various conditions of pregnant women like pre-conceptional care in Ayurveda, Garbhini Pariksha (Antenatal care), Garbhini Paricharya and Sootika Paricharya. The Department also performs various Ayurvedic procedures like Uttara Basti; Garbhashaya - gata (Intrauterine) and Mutra – gata (Intravesical), Kshara Karma, Yoni Prakshalan, Pichu, Yoni Dhoopan, Yoga Basti, Kalka Dharan etc.

- To develop the department of Prasuti Tantra Avum Stri Roga to its full potential by imparting knowledge of health of women of all ages and to conduct quality research on community needs.
- To establish it as a best integrated center for dealing all Gynecological and Obstetrical Cases.
Mission Statement:
- To produce competent and skilled graduates of Ayurveda in the field of Prasuti Tantra Avum Stri Roga through innovative and creative teaching and training program who can excel in patient care.
Objectives
1. To maintain the health of female reproductive system by strengthening the genital organs and preventing them from various genital tract diseases.
2. To reinforce the concept of SUPRAJA i.e., to have a Healthy Progeny from a healthy mother.
3. To maintain the physical and mental health of a women throughout the various stages of her life.
4. To promote Garbhini Paricharya (Antenatal care through Ayurveda) through quality teaching and clinical training.
5. To provide pre-conceptional care in Ayurveda & Developing the Ayurvedic perspective of fetal medicine –care of fetus before fertilization by preparing, monitoring and treating the couple and developing the treatment protocols to address the fetal pathology.
6. To explore Ayurveda treatment modalities for various Gynecological disorders.
7. To validate pharmacotherapeutics of drugs & formulations related to Prasuti Tantra avum Stri Roga.
8. To implement Standard Operative Procedures (SOP) for various therapeutic procedures like Uttarbasti, Yoni- Dhoopan etc. related to Prasuti Tantra & Stri Roga.

Practical Exposure:
A well-equipped OPD and IPD section is available to meet the needs of the Department of Prasuti Tantra Avum Stri Roga, with special expertise in performing various Ayurvedic procedures such as Uttara Basti (Garbhashaya-gata – intrauterine and Mutra-gata – intravesical), Kshara Karma, Yoni Prakshalan, Pichu, Yoni Dhoopan, Yoga Basti, and Kalka Dharan.
The procedure section is organized into multiple subdivisions, including Uttara Basti Kaksha, Dhoopan Kaksha, and a fully functional Labour Room, ensuring comprehensive clinical training.
Students receive practical exposure to:
- Ayurvedic therapies for gynecological disorders, infertility, and menstrual irregularities.
- Maternal and child health awareness programs, health camps, and extension activities.
- Case discussions and clinical demonstrations that correlate Ayurvedic principles with modern obstetric and gynecological practices.
This structured exposure ensures that graduates develop strong clinical acumen, diagnostic skills, and confidence in managing women’s health through Ayurveda.
